Young Alumni Brainstorming Workshop: LGBTQ+ Session

August 16, 2022, 12-1 PM PT

On behalf of the Stanford Alumni Association, you are invited to participate in one of a small number of brainstorming workshops because you expressed interest in participating in the Stanford 10 project in the 2021 Stanford 10 young alumni survey.

In May-June, we invited you, your classmates, and other alums 0–10 years out to share ideas on how we might, together, design alumni experiences and resources that are right for you. The purpose of the brainstorming workshops is to have a small group of alums (between 8-12 per workshop) discuss and prioritize which ideas might move on to prototypes.

As part of this effort, we are also inviting Stanford alums who identify as FLI and/or LGBTQ+ to a separate 60-minute brainstorming workshop to assess how the ideas gathered from the open call fit with your experiences, priorities, and goals.

Below are the dates/times and unique scheduling links for each session:

·        FLI alums session: Monday, August 15th, 12-1 PM PT: Sign up at https://go.oncehub.com/Stanford10Workshops02

·        LBGTQ+ alums session: Tuesday, August 16th, 12-1 PM PT: Sign up at https://go.oncehub.com/Stanford10Workshops03

Sign-ups are on a first-come, first-served basis. Space is limited to create room for a constructive interactive session. Please consider participating, and meeting some of your fellow alums along the way. If you have any questions, feel free to reply directly to Bora at cboralee@stanford.edu.

As a token of appreciation, we’ll randomly select 10 participants to receive a $50 gift card. If you are selected, you’ll receive an email from us after all the workshops are complete.

Thanks for your energy and support!

The following 60-minute workshops include any Stanford alumni from the undergraduate classes 2011-2021 (space is limited) and will be fully virtual via Zoom.

There are four date/time options to choose from (each of these will have the same structure and agenda):

·        Tuesday, August 9th, 12-1 PM PT

·        Wednesday, August 10th, 4-5 PM PT

·        Thursday, August 11th, 8-9 AM PT

·        Tuesday, August 16th, 5-6 PM PT

The sign-up link is here: https://go.oncehub.com/Stanford10Workshops01

Gender Data Enablement Project

Take the Gender Data Enablement Pronouns Survey!

Gender Data Enablement Alumni Survey

The IDEAL sponsored Gender Data Enablement project is one of many cross-campus initiatives through which Stanford hopes to create an inclusive, accessible, diverse and equitable university for all community members.

Transgender, gender queer and non-binary community members are not currently represented in Stanford systems and in many lived experiences on campus. Starting with the students, the Gender Data Enablement project will improve how our core information technology systems collect and share gender and pronoun information with other campus systems with the addition of more inclusive options.

Stanford is gathering input from alumni regarding plans to add pronouns and gender identity information to campus systems of record. In the fall of 2022, students will be presented a list of pronouns from which to select. Indicated pronouns will be published on class rosters and in the student directory. The addition of non-binary gender identity options will be presented at a later date. It is intended that these choices will be added to faculty, staff and alumni systems in the future. Stanford is looking for input from alumni regarding this initiative.

Please take the survey: Gender Data Enablement Alumni Survey. It is anonymous and only takes five minutes to complete and will provide valuable insight into the perspective of alumni. Please forward to alumni you know and encourage their participation.
