Carolyn Bertozzi was awarded the Nobel Prize in chemistry in 2022 for her development of bioorthogonal reactions, which allow scientists to explore cells and track biological processes without disrupting the normal chemistry of the cell. As a woman and a member of the LGBTQ+ community, her pioneering success in a straight-male-dominated field is the best representation of excellence and trailblazing in every way possible.
Richard Duncan has been instrumental in bringing Dragfest to life, an event that has become a cornerstone of joy, inclusivity, and visibility within the Stanford community. Through their unwavering dedication, creativity, and leadership, Richard has transformed Dragfest into a celebrated tradition that not only entertains but also educates and inspires.
